My idea for the residency is to explore japanese art materials, contemporary art and traditional culture. I did not bring any materials from finland so i could get the maximum effect of working here. I have enjoyed using hand-ground ink for the very first time and will definitely take traditional goathair brushes with me to Finland. I work in a variety of mediums but at youkobo I have focused on watercolour and ink works on paper. The exhibition presents the best of made in japan.
