Eleanor Turnbull, Lydia Davies

[UK]

Eleanor Turnbull
Born in Co. Durham (UK) in 1992. Lives and works between London and Cornwall. Working with sculpture and film, the two mediums seem to grapple, anthropomorphically with each other. Their physical and digital identities are channeled through use of the landscape and objects laden with psychological content. Eleanor attempts to evoke empathy in the viewer, towards objects, people and landscapes, and towards the things that aren’t immediately graspable. She has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, 2015, and is currently studying on the MFA Fine Art Media Course at The Slade School of Fine Art, graduating in 2020.

Lydia Davies
Born in 1991 in Dorset, UK. Currently lives in Glasgow, UK. Working with still and moving image, sound and writing, her work addresses the temporal nature of perceptual experience, drawing on research surrounding the histories of the photographic image and phenomenology. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins in 2013, and completed a PgCert in Academic Practice in Art at UAL in 2018. In autumn 2019, she will begin the Master of Fine Art Programme at Glasgow School of Art.
