Erik Sille is an artist based in Slovakia, and actively exhibiting across Europe and North America. He has been taking a 3-months residency at Youkobo, invited as part of the events surrounding the “European Cultural Capital Kosice 2013”.
Sille’s works combine the sticky sweetness of infantile naivety and exaggerated harmony with a rawness, brutality and perversion, reflecting a loss of the "authentic" "natural" world, substituted by the pseudo-reality of the media. In Šille's work, the hanging picture becomes an epitaph.
