Saran Youkongdee [Thailand]

Saran is a Thailand based interior designer and artist and has been participating into our AIR program since April, supported by Japan Foundation JENESYS Programme.
Alongside his studio residency at Youkobo, he run special art classes at the local elementary school and showed the children’s work at Zempukuji Park. For the exhibition [spirit], Saran searched for a concept and material which Thai and Japanese cultures both share, going on to design a clip which connects paper sheets together allowing them to be suspended from one another. The visitors to the exhibition were encouraged to write their wishes on papers which will be added to complete the artwork.
