The World to Come - 世界を新たにつくる
Elizabeth Presa, Utako Shindo and so on. [multinational]2025.02.15 - 2025.02.23
“To make art we must become like children and believe in this world in all its colours, textures and sensations sufferings and joys. We must choose those things most relevant to our practice. Yet war, violence and destruction, including environmental destruction may make believing in this world our most difficult task. As artists let us discover ways to make the world anew, a world where even the tiniest gestures and most fragile of forms may find their place in the sunlight.”
This January a group of artists* gathered in the online seminars with Elizabeth Presa and Utako Shindo to imagine “the world to come” in responding to philosophical texts, including What Children Say, and In Play Land. This first exhibition will be developed into another exhibition at George Paton Gallery in Melbourne, Australia.
Please be advised that the gallery opens only weekends (Saturdays & Sundays: February 15, 16, 22, 23).
